Zarea Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Telenor Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the digital transformation of Pakistan’s agriculture sector. The agreement outlines a collaborative framework that will support the modernization of agricultural practices, improve farmer livelihoods, and foster sustainable growth through the use of digital platforms and innovative technologies. The partnership was announced through a company filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange, reflecting Zarea’s growing commitment to using technology to strengthen the country’s agri-value chain.

Under this collaboration, Zarea and Telenor Pakistan will jointly develop initiatives covering multiple areas, including agricultural commodity trading, crop residue management, climate resilience, environmental sustainability, digital advisory services, and dissemination of mandi (market) rates. The partnership also emphasizes enhanced farmer engagement through digital tools designed to simplify access to real-time market data and expert insights. These efforts aim to empower farmers with reliable information, allowing them to make better decisions related to crop pricing, supply chain logistics, and sustainable resource utilization.

Zarea stated that the MoU represents an important milestone in its mission to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem for Pakistan’s agricultural commodities supply chain. The company intends to leverage Telenor’s extensive digital network and communication infrastructure to drive greater transparency in the agricultural market and improve income opportunities for farmers nationwide. Through digital integration, Zarea plans to introduce innovative tools that connect farmers, traders, and other value chain stakeholders, ultimately improving the efficiency and competitiveness of Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

The agreement also includes plans for both organizations to collaborate on research dissemination, expert advisories, and co-branded engagement activities aimed at promoting technology adoption in rural and semi-urban farming communities. By combining Zarea’s expertise in agricultural solutions with Telenor’s digital platforms and outreach capabilities, the partnership seeks to accelerate the deployment of digital agriculture initiatives at the national level. These programs will address challenges related to climate change adaptation, data-driven decision-making, and resource optimization while promoting eco-friendly farming practices.

Zarea emphasized that this collaboration is part of its broader strategy to integrate sustainability and innovation into agriculture, enabling smallholder farmers to participate more actively in digital marketplaces. Telenor Pakistan, known for its work in advancing digital inclusion and financial access, brings valuable experience in implementing technology-based services for rural communities. Together, both organizations aim to strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural infrastructure by ensuring farmers have access to the information, tools, and networks necessary to thrive in a modernized and digitally connected agricultural economy.

Through this partnership, Zarea and Telenor Pakistan reaffirm their commitment to empowering the agricultural community by promoting sustainable growth, digital literacy, and inclusive access to technology. The collaboration reflects a shared vision of building a more resilient and future-ready agricultural ecosystem that supports both economic progress and environmental stewardship in Pakistan.
