Yango, the renowned international ride-hailing service, has officially launched in Pakistan, bringing convenient and reliable transportation options to Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.
The exclusive launch event held on Saturday gathered industry professionals, influencers, stakeholders, and potential customers to celebrate the arrival of Yango in the country.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, graced the event as the chief guest and expressed her gratitude to Yango for choosing Pakistan as its new destination. She emphasized Yango’s commitment to providing secure and cost-effective journeys for passengers while ensuring reliable and steady earnings for drivers.
Faisal Iftekhar, Country Manager of Yango Pakistan, shared the company’s vision to benefit partners, drivers, users, and society as a whole by introducing newer vehicles, employing smart technology for efficient dispatching and optimized routes, and promoting sustainable business practices.
In less than two months since its launch, Yango has already partnered with over 50 local transportation providers, witnessing substantial growth in demand that exceeded expectations. Yango aims to offer the people of Pakistan a convenient, hassle-free, and dependable public transportation option.
With a strong presence across Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, including countries like UAE, Norway, Finland, Bolivia, Peru, and Algeria, Yango now sets its sights on expanding in South Asia, starting with Pakistan. The service operates in more than twenty countries globally, creating economic opportunities and providing direct and indirect employment.
The Yango app is available in multiple languages, including English and Urdu, allowing users to conveniently book rides using cars and motorbikes to their preferred destinations. One of its unique features is the ability to make multiple stops during a ride and make more than one booking from the same device.
Using advanced geolocation technology, the app efficiently connects users with the nearest driver, minimizing waiting time. At present, Yango operates on a cash-only system and automatically estimates the fare for each trip based on the destination provided by the user.
The launch event, hosted by Sidra Iqbal, concluded with an exceptional performance by talented singer Natasha Baig, enthralling the attendees with her powerful voice.
