LAHORE – Yango, the renowned international ride-hailing service, has officially made its debut in Pakistan with successful launches in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

The exclusive launch event, held on Saturday, gathered industry professionals, influencers, stakeholders, and potential customers to celebrate the arrival of Yango in the country.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, graced the occasion as the chief guest and thanked Yango for commencing its operations in Pakistan. She expressed, “Yango maintains its dedication to providing secure and cost-effective journeys for passengers and reliable and steady earnings for drivers.”

Faisal Iftekhar, Country Manager of Yango Pakistan, shared the company’s vision of benefiting partners, drivers, users, and society through innovative approaches. Yango aims to introduce newer vehicles for improved partner earnings, employ smart technology for efficient dispatching and optimized routes, and encourage sustainable business practices.

“We have successfully tested our service in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, and in less than two months of our presence in the country, we already have partnered with more than 50 local transportation providers and seen substantial growth in demand that exceeded our expectations. We aim to go beyond that, offering the people of Pakistan a convenient public transportation option that is hassle-free and dependable,” he added.

With a strong presence in Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, including countries like UAE, Norway, Finland, Bolivia, Peru, and Algeria, Yango now sets its sights on the South Asian demographic, starting with Pakistan. The service is operational in more than twenty countries worldwide, and this contemporary, secure, and cost-effective application promises to bring enhanced mobility options to the Pakistani economy. By partnering with local drivers, Yango creates direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to economic growth in the country.

The Yango app is available for download in various languages, including English and Urdu, and offers users the convenience of booking rides to their preferred destinations using both cars and motorbikes. What sets Yango apart is its feature allowing users to make multiple stops during a ride and even make more than one booking from the same cellular device.

Leveraging geolocation technology, the app precisely detects the user’s location and promptly connects them with the nearest driver, minimizing waiting time. At present, the app operates on a cash-only system and automatically estimates the fare for each trip based on the user’s provided destination address.

The event, hosted by Sidra Iqbal, concluded with an exceptional performance by talented singer Natasha Baig, who enthralled the attendees with her powerful voice. Mr. Arzish Azam, CEO of Ejad Labs, also graced the launch program.
