On Tuesday, 5th March the Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail inaugurated a Complaint Cell at the Governor’s House in Karachi. To lodge their complaints, the citizens of Karachi can either visit the Complaint Centre in person file their complaint online on Governor Sindh’s website www.governorsindh.gov.pk.
Imran Ismail speaking on the occasion said that providing relief to the public at their doorstep and solving common people’s problem is the prime responsibility of the government. According to him, the people of Karachi had given the mandate to Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) for the same reason.
He also accepted that the inefficiency of government officials causes problems for masses whose complaints take months to reach the concerned officer and more often than not, these cases go unheeded unless you bribe them. He added, “It is because of such problems that I have decided to personally monitor the complaints received at the Complaint Cell.”
The provincial departments have also been directed to work in collaboration with the cell and ensure prompt reply of any query or complaint forwarded to them.
Furthermore, the governor also praised the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) by saying that the department has played a vital role in cooperation with law enforcement agencies and the public.
Speaking on CPLC’s success, he said, “Today we are returning more than 100 snatched and [stolen] mobile phones to citizens, which have been recovered with the coordinated efforts of the Karachi Electronic Dealers Association, LEAs, and CPLC.”
