Women Tech Quest 2023, organized by 10Pearls University, provided a platform for women to exhibit their tech skills, compete, network, and learn. The seventh edition of this empowering event, held on June 17, 2023, took place in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, attracting over 700 women from the technology sector across these cities.

Since its inception in 2017, Women Tech Quest (WTQ) has been dedicated to assisting women in evaluating and showcasing their technological expertise, gaining recognition, and seizing the opportunity to win cash prizes and gain exposure. The event not only featured competitions but also included inspirational speaker sessions and workshops where accomplished women professionals shared their experiences, nurturing the growth and success of budding professionals.

Syeda Sana Hussain, Head of People & Programs – EMEA at 10Pearls, expressed satisfaction in conducting a successful Women Tech Quest for the seventh consecutive year. As a flagship initiative for gender diversity and women’s empowerment, WTQ has propelled the careers of over 5,000 women, strengthened Pakistan’s talent pool, and provided a prominent platform for women to demonstrate their unlimited potential.

The competition at Women Tech Quest comprised three streams: Coding, Testing, and Design. Participants were presented with a series of coding problems to solve using their preferred programming language. The Testing Competition evaluated contestants’ abilities in testing database and automation concepts, while the Design Competition assessed their skills in solving UI/UX challenges, including user research, persona building, and user flows.

The event featured two categories, Professional and Student, for each competition stream in every city, resulting in a total of 18 winners being announced (6 winners per city). The winners were awarded substantial cash prizes and shields, while all participants received swag kits and certificates of participation.

In addition to the competitions, Women Tech Quest hosted inspirational speaker sessions by notable women professionals from various fields, including transformation and enablement, entrepreneurship, marketing, and creative media. The event also included an engaging workshop on Women’s Health and Wellness to promote holistic well-being.

WTQ 2023 gained significant endorsement from leading companies in the tech industry and beyond, with esteemed organizations such as CaterpillHERs, Figma Community Lahore, GDG Kolachi, MLSA Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad, WomeninTechPK, Bytewise Ltd, Growelle Labs, CodeGirls, AWS User Group Karachi, Daftarkhwan, AimFit, and Claymate supporting the event. Women Tech Quest 2023 successfully provided a platform for women in technology to showcase their talents, gain valuable insights, and build a strong network. It exemplified the commitment to gender diversity and empowerment in the tech industry while inspiring future generations of women to excel in the field.
