United Bank Limited has introduced an AI-powered Voice Command feature in its UBL Digital App, allowing customers to perform everyday banking tasks simply by speaking. The new functionality provides a hands-free way to bank in Pakistan and marks a step forward in enhancing user experience and accessibility in digital financial services. By tapping the microphone icon inside the app, users can speak their request and confirm transaction details to complete actions such as fund transfers, bill payments, mobile top-ups, and account statement checks.

The Voice Command feature supports both English and Urdu, offering on-screen confirmations in the language used for the command. UBL highlights this dual-language capability as a significant differentiator, aiming to make banking faster, more intuitive, and accessible for a broader range of users, including seniors, first-time digital banking customers, and individuals with visual or literacy challenges. The app flow has been designed to remain simple and user-friendly: open the app, tap the microphone, speak the request, and verify transaction details before completion, ensuring security and accurate customer verification.

Powered by Fortanixor Technologies, the feature forms part of a wider voice and digital interaction stack that UBL is deploying to enhance conversational banking. This development represents a broader shift toward conversation-led digital banking experiences, which reduce friction in financial services by enabling customers to interact naturally through voice commands rather than navigating multiple screens or menus. The innovation reflects UBL’s commitment to leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve convenience and inclusivity in digital banking.

UBL has positioned this launch as a first-of-its-kind experience in the local market, signaling a growing trend of voice-led services in Pakistan’s fintech ecosystem. The feature not only streamlines everyday transactions but also allows customers to perform banking tasks while on the go, eliminating barriers related to mobility or technical familiarity. By integrating voice commands into its app, UBL is creating opportunities for faster interactions, minimizing errors, and offering an experience tailored to modern lifestyles. Customers can explore the Voice Command feature through the UBL Digital App, where official guidance and tutorials are provided to help users maximize its capabilities.

The introduction of AI-powered voice banking aligns with global trends in digital finance, where conversational AI is increasingly deployed to enhance user engagement, improve transaction speed, and extend accessibility. UBL’s implementation focuses on security, simplicity, and language inclusivity, aiming to make banking a seamless experience for diverse customer groups. As more users adopt voice-driven digital interactions, features like UBL Voice Command are likely to become a key element of Pakistan’s evolving fintech landscape, complementing mobile and online banking solutions while setting a benchmark for accessibility and convenience in financial services.
