Pakistan’s mobile phone manufacturing sector has seen notable progress in 2025, with locally assembled handsets now forming a major share of the country’s device market. According to the latest figures released by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the number of mobile phones assembled in Pakistan has risen significantly compared to the previous year, reflecting growing demand and the expansion of local production facilities. This shift underscores the increasing reliance on domestic assembly rather than imports, which has become an important factor for price-sensitive consumers and for meeting the government’s policy goals to enhance local manufacturing capabilities.

Data compiled by Topline Research shows that VGO Tel led the market with 2.12 million locally assembled units in July 2025. Infinix followed closely with 2.01 million units, while Itel assembled 1.53 million units and Vivo 1.38 million units. Other prominent brands included Xiaomi with 1.04 million units, Samsung at 0.93 million units, Tecno at 0.89 million units, Q Mobile at 0.72 million units, G’Five at 0.7 million units, and Nokia at 0.65 million units. This ranking highlights the diversity of players active in Pakistan’s mobile phone assembly sector, ranging from newer entrants to long-standing brands that continue to attract consumer interest.

Market analysts expect mobile phone sales in Pakistan to grow by around 7–8% over the next twelve months. The growth outlook is supported by a stabilization in inflation and the normalization of base effects, which is likely to create more predictable demand for new devices. In addition, major brands such as Samsung and Xiaomi are known to introduce fresh smartphone models in September each year, which could further encourage sales momentum in the domestic market. Local assembly operations are well positioned to benefit from these launches, allowing them to respond more quickly to shifts in consumer preferences and maintain competitive pricing compared to imported devices.

The rise in locally assembled mobile phones represents an important trend for Pakistan’s telecommunications ecosystem. It strengthens the supply chain, supports job creation, and helps ensure that consumers have access to a broad range of affordable smartphones and feature phones. By building on the momentum of 2025 and supporting continued investment in assembly facilities, the country’s mobile phone market may continue to expand, providing a wider choice of devices for millions of users while reducing the reliance on imported handsets.
