The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training have announced a partnership with TikTok to officially launch a dedicated STEM feed in Pakistan. This initiative aims to improve access to high-quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics content for students, educators, and young professionals across the country. The dedicated STEM feed is now live within the TikTok app, offering a stream of curated, educational content designed to promote curiosity, critical thinking, and digital learning in an engaging format.

The STEM feed initiative includes collaboration with leading academic institutions across Pakistan to launch training programs for teachers and content creators. These sessions are focused on equipping participants with practical tools, techniques, and best practices for producing educational short-form video content in STEM. The goal is to enable a broader range of educators to create content that is informative, interactive, and tailored to the digital habits of today’s learners.

As part of its effort to support the local education ecosystem, TikTok is also investing in the development of Pakistan’s STEM creator community. The platform is working with educators, creators, and influencers to produce content in English, Urdu, and regional languages, making STEM topics more relatable and accessible to a wider audience. A new hashtag, #StemTok, has also been launched to help users discover and engage with STEM content more easily. TikTok has set up a dedicated landing page featuring videos from educational partners, independent creators, and academic institutions.

Commenting on the collaboration, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the initiative supports the broader vision of using digital platforms to improve education and skill development in Pakistan. She emphasized that TikTok’s STEM feed can play a vital role in providing equitable access to learning opportunities, especially for aspiring female students and youth exploring careers in science and technology. She expressed confidence in the collaboration’s potential to empower future generations.

Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar highlighted the importance of digital platforms in delivering educational content that is both relevant and engaging. She welcomed the STEM feed’s launch, calling it a valuable contribution to national efforts to promote STEM learning and build a generation that is skilled, inquisitive, and ready for future challenges.

Fahad Muhammad Khan Niazi, TikTok’s Head of Public Policy and Government Relations in Pakistan, noted that this initiative is part of TikTok’s broader commitment to education through creativity. He emphasized that the partnership with the government and academic institutions reflects TikTok’s belief in the transformative power of STEM education and its role in preparing youth for future opportunities.

The STEM feed initiative is also in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for a Digital Pakistan, supporting innovation and using technology to empower the next generation through inclusive, creative learning environments.
