According to recent reports, the federal and provincial governments will fund the establishment of the University of Applied Engineering and Emerging Technologies in Sialkot.

The Punjab government has given away about 500 acres of land near Sambrial for free. Both the Federal and Punjab governments would contribute Rs. 16.8 billion to this project. By 2027, the project should be completed.

Furthermore, the institution will be founded in conjunction with Austrian and Chinese technological universities, as well as Dr. Attaur Rehman, deputy chairman of PM’s knowledge economy task group. The university will offer five major bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes with a focus on industrial engineering, manufacturing, and mechatronics, chemical and materials engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, agricultural engineering/industrial biotechnology, and business management, entrepreneurship, and information.

A technology park, startup incubators, shell units and plots for companies, five academic blocks, one administrative block, a central library, three hostels (one for girls and two for boys), a faculty housing colony, furnished family suites for foreign faculty, an activity centre, guesthouse, mosque, school, sports complex, and more will be included in the university.
