Telenor Pakistan has successfully completed the world’s largest one-go migration of its entire customer base of 90 million prepaid and postpaid users to a next-generation Charging and Billing System. The newly deployed cloud-native CBS is hosted on a private cloud and features enhanced service resilience, geo-redundancy, and high scalability. Designed to support a rapidly expanding digital ecosystem, the platform enables faster development of next-generation digital services, quicker time-to-market, and seamless digital integration through more than 100 APIs.

The migration involved coordinated efforts across Telenor Pakistan, Huawei, OEMs, and multiple suppliers, highlighting the collaboration between technology and business teams to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted cutover. The success of this migration demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening its core infrastructure while preparing for future telecom advancements.

Speaking on the milestone, Awais Vohra, Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Pakistan, stated that the migration is a pivotal step in the company’s digital transformation journey. By upgrading to a scalable and resilient CBS platform, Telenor Pakistan is enabling a range of new digital services, faster responses to customer needs, and laying the foundation for 5G readiness. Vohra emphasized that the upgrade reflects the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and technological growth in Pakistan.

Ethan Sun, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Pakistan, added that the partnership with Telenor continues to evolve as both companies work to enable next-generation digital capabilities. Huawei’s support in providing a future-ready CBS platform enhances operational efficiency while preparing the network for 5G and beyond.

This achievement positions Telenor Pakistan at the forefront of the country’s telecom evolution. With a robust and scalable infrastructure, the company is poised to deliver advanced digital services and contribute to the digital Pakistan vision, opening opportunities for enhanced connectivity, customer experiences, and innovative telecom solutions.
