Telenor Pakistan has successfully completed the world’s largest one-go migration of its entire prepaid and postpaid customer base of 90 million to a next-generation Charging and Billing System (CBS). The cloud-native CBS, hosted on a private cloud, features enhanced service resilience, geo-redundancy, and high scalability, designed to support a rapidly expanding digital ecosystem. The platform enables faster time-to-market, seamless digital integration through over 100 APIs, and the development of next-generation digital services.

The migration reflects extensive collaboration between cross-functional teams from Telenor Pakistan, Huawei, OEMs, and suppliers, working across technology and business functions to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted transition. This milestone marks a major step in the company’s digital transformation journey and positions Telenor Pakistan to deliver innovative services efficiently.

Speaking on the achievement, Awais Vohra, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, described the upgrade as pivotal for the company’s digital transformation. He highlighted that the new CBS strengthens core systems, enables the launch of new digital services, improves response to customer needs, and lays the groundwork for 5G readiness, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement in Pakistan.

Ethan Sun, CEO of Huawei Pakistan, added that the partnership continues to evolve with the deployment of a future-ready CBS platform, enhancing operational efficiency while preparing the network for 5G and beyond. The migration underscores Telenor Pakistan’s focus on delivering cutting-edge digital services, future-proof infrastructure, and supporting the broader Digital Pakistan vision, solidifying its position at the forefront of the country’s telecom evolution.
