Telenor Pakistan has introduced Voice over WiFi, expanding its communication portfolio with a service designed to improve voice call reliability by allowing customers to make and receive calls using WiFi networks. The feature enables users to stay connected even in areas where traditional mobile signals may weaken, such as basements, densely built zones, remote locations or during temporary interruptions to regular mobile coverage. By integrating WiFi calling into its network capabilities, the company aims to support consistent communication across diverse environments where customers typically face difficulties due to signal limitations.

According to Telenor Pakistan, the service uses a customer’s existing mobile number and provides a stable channel for calls when WiFi availability exceeds cellular strength. This approach is intended to reduce call drops, support clearer audio and offer customers a dependable alternative path for communication when mobile coverage fluctuates. The company views VoWiFi as an advancement that aligns with evolving user needs, particularly in localities where network congestion or infrastructure barriers often affect call performance. Telenor has positioned the service as part of its broader strategy to enhance the quality and accessibility of communication tools used by millions across the country.

Waqas Aman Ullah, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Telenor Pakistan, described the introduction of VoWiFi as an important moment for customers seeking improved convenience in their daily communication. He said the service reflects the organisation’s focus on delivering solutions that simplify connectivity and support consistent performance. He acknowledged the work carried out by teams across the organisation, including Waleed Abbas, Syed Fawad Shabbar and Memoona Arshad, noting that the project required close coordination between technology and commercial functions to bring the service to customers. The company emphasised that VoWiFi is aimed at creating an enhanced call experience in spaces where mobile signals traditionally weaken due to structural layout or environmental interference.

With VoWiFi now active for compatible handsets, the company said it is strengthening its efforts to make advanced communication tools more accessible to a broad user base. Customers can verify handset compatibility by visiting Telenor Pakistan’s website, which lists supported models and usage guidelines. As the adoption of WiFi calling grows globally, the service gives local users added flexibility by allowing voice calls to continue without interruption whenever a strong WiFi connection is available. Telenor sees VoWiFi as a step toward expanding accessible communication technologies that respond to the diverse usage patterns and mobility needs across Pakistan.

The launch also underscores ongoing investment in customer centric enhancements that support reliable voice services across variable network conditions. By integrating this new capability, Telenor Pakistan is broadening its service ecosystem and offering users another method to maintain stable communication regardless of location. The company noted that the service aims to deliver practical improvements to everyday usage scenarios, especially in homes, offices and remote work environments where WiFi coverage typically surpasses cellular strength.
