Telecom operators in Pakistan have significantly expanded their network coverage in Hangu and Kurram districts over the past year. A total of 43 new sites have been added to improve connectivity and service quality in these areas.

Ufone led the expansion efforts with the installation of 19 new sites in Hangu and nine in Kurram. Zong added eight sites in Hangu and one in Kurram, while Jazz installed three sites in each district. Additionally, Ufone and Jazz upgraded several sites to 4G technology, enhancing data speeds and overall network performance.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been actively monitoring network quality and has taken steps to improve service delivery in these regions. The regulator has directed operators to address issues related to network coverage, data speeds, and voice quality.

While significant progress has been made, challenges remain, particularly in areas with security concerns. The PTA continues to work with operators to ensure optimal network performance and address the specific needs of these regions.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995.
