Pakistan’s Telecom Operators Association (TOA) has been officially formed, marking a significant milestone in the country’s telecom industry. During its inaugural meeting, TOA welcomed prominent members, including Jazz, Ufone/PTCL, Telenor, Nayatel, Cybernet, and TWA, with opportunities for other license-holders to join as well.

The association appointed Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, as its first chairman, while Wahajus Siraj, CEO of Nayatel, will serve as vice chairman. Naveed Butt, Group Chief Regulatory Officer of PTCL & Ufone, was designated as president of the Management Committee, and Syed Fakhar Ahmed CC&RO Jazz will act as interim secretary general.

The main objective of TOA is to expedite the digitization of Pakistan’s economy by advocating for policy and regulatory interventions in the telecom and broadband industries. By providing favorable solutions, the association aims to attract foreign investments, stimulate industry growth, and offer innovative services to millions of customers in the country.

Moreover, TOA is dedicated to promoting digital inclusion, particularly among marginalized communities such as rural areas, youth, and women. Through collaborative efforts, TOA strives to drive positive transformations and propel Pakistan’s telecom sector towards a more connected and digitally empowered future.
