Tech Valley Pakistan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Media Science Department at Bahria University Karachi Campus (BUKC) to give students access to Google Career Certificate scholarships, AI-integrated learning, and industry-relevant digital skills. The agreement adds Bahria University’s Media Science Department to a growing list of Pakistani universities Tech Valley has partnered with over the past two years, following earlier agreements spanning NUML, 10 public universities in Sindh under a tripartite MoU with the provincial government, and the Punjab Higher Education Department’s 100,000-certificate rollout under the Year of Youth 2026 initiative.
Under the collaboration, students will have the opportunity to earn globally recognized certifications in AI Essentials, Prompting Essentials, Agile Essentials, Data Analytics, AI Professional, Project Management, Digital Marketing and E-commerce, UX Design, People Management Essentials, and more. This course catalogue closely mirrors the certification areas offered under Tech Valley’s other recent university partnerships, including the Punjab Higher Education Department deal, suggesting the company has settled into a fairly standardized set of in-demand digital skills tracks it offers across its various institutional agreements rather than customizing the course list significantly by university or department.
Pairing a Media Science department specifically with AI and digital skills certifications reflects the broader convergence happening across media and communications fields, where skills like data analytics, digital marketing, and AI literacy have become increasingly relevant for graduates entering content, journalism, and communications careers. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs by equipping students with AI-integrated and practical digital skills, positioning the partnership as directly addressing employability concerns for Media Science graduates navigating an industry that has been rapidly reshaped by digital and AI-driven tools over the past few years.
Tech Valley described its role as continuing to connect academia with industry and create pathways for students to build future-ready skills, consistent with the framing the company has used across its many prior university MoUs nationwide. With Tech Valley’s Google Career Certificate programme having already issued hundreds of thousands of scholarships across public and private universities in Punjab and Sindh, this latest agreement with Bahria University Karachi extends that reach into another private institution’s specific academic department. Whether Media Science students at BUKC take up the certifications in meaningful numbers will likely depend on how effectively the department integrates the AI and digital skills training alongside its existing media curriculum, rather than treating the certificates as an optional add-on separate from core coursework.
