Tech Valley has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Women Media Center under the Digital Sahafat Program to provide digital skills training to 100 female journalists and media students across Sindh and Punjab. The agreement marks a formal partnership between the two organisations and is aimed at widening access to modern digital competencies among women who work in, or aspire to join, the media profession in the country.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Islamabad office of Tech Valley. Sameen Aziz, Program Manager at Tech Valley, signed the document on behalf of the organisation, while Fauzia Shaheen, Chief Executive Officer of Women Media Center, represented her institution at the signing. The presence of senior representatives from both sides reflects the importance attached to the initiative and the shared intention to see it carried through to completion.

The collaboration seeks to strengthen the digital capabilities of female journalists and aspiring media professionals, helping them adapt to the evolving media landscape and meet the changing demands of the industry. Newsrooms and media organisations across the world have been shifting steadily toward digital platforms, and professionals in the field are now expected to be comfortable with a range of tools and practices that were not part of traditional journalism training. By focusing on participants from Sindh and Punjab, the programme extends its reach to women in two of the most populous provinces of the country.

Through Digital Sahafat, Tech Valley continues to support the professional development of women in media by expanding access to digital skills and preparing the next generation of female media professionals for an increasingly digital world. The partnership with Women Media Center adds an institutional dimension to this effort, combining the training capacity of Tech Valley with the network and experience of an organisation that works closely with women in the media sector. Together, the two organisations hope to create opportunities for participants to build confidence, improve their professional standing and contribute more effectively to the future of journalism in Pakistan.
