Tech Valley Pakistan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with JazzWorld, naming the telecommunications company as a partner for Digital Pasban, a national initiative focused on improving online safety and digital awareness among children, parents and teachers. Under the partnership, JazzWorld will use its telecommunications network to help take digital safety awareness to families and communities across Pakistan. The collaboration supports Digital Pasban’s goal of reaching more than 200,000 households with practical resources and guidance for safer use of online platforms.
The initiative focuses on four main areas of digital safety. Google Family Link provides parents with tools to manage children’s screen time, applications and account activity, while YouTube safety features are intended to support more age-appropriate viewing. Be Internet Awesome introduces children to digital citizenship and basic online safety practices, while SafeSearch helps filter potentially inappropriate content from Google Search. Together, these tools are being presented through Digital Pasban as practical resources that families can use while children increasingly rely on connected devices for education, communication and entertainment.
Beyond providing information about digital safety tools, Digital Pasban also includes direct engagement with parents and teachers. Tech Valley Pakistan has been conducting town halls and safety clinics where families can receive practical guidance on setting up and using online safety controls. The organisation has said the programme will take these resources and activities to schools and communities across Pakistan, while the new partnership with JazzWorld is expected to support wider outreach through the company’s telecommunications network.
Digital Pasban was launched through a broader partnership involving Google, Tech Valley Pakistan, JazzWorld, PTA, Beaconhouse School Systems and HUM Network, with the initiative targeting more than 200,000 Pakistani households. Google has also committed $500,000 through Google.org to support digital citizenship and AI safety programmes in Pakistan. The addition of JazzWorld as the telecommunications partner gives the programme another channel for reaching families at scale, while the wider initiative combines technology tools, educational resources and community-based awareness to address online safety among children and their caregivers.
