Starfinder: Afterlight, a turn-based cRPG developed by Barcelona-based studio Epictellers Entertainment, is generating attention among fans of narrative-driven role-playing games. Inspired by the commercial success of Baldur’s Gate 3, the studio aims to bring a fresh science-fiction flavor to the genre while appealing to players familiar with cRPG mechanics. During the New Game Plus Showcase, Epictellers provided a first look at the gameplay, offering glimpses of exploration and turn-based combat, along with voice performances from the game’s high-profile cast. A demo is expected to release soon, ahead of the title’s early access launch planned for 2026.
The game was first unveiled last year, promising a 2026 early access window and assembling an impressive lineup of voice actors. Neil Newbon, known for his connection to Baldur’s Gate 3, contributes both as a character voice and as the director for the rest of the cast. Roger Clark, acclaimed for voicing Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, serves as the narrator, lending a western-inspired tone to the science-fiction setting. The cast also includes Fred Tatasciore, Inel Tomlinson, Melissa Medína, James Alexander, and Carolina Ravassa, each bringing experience from popular games and animation projects. Their collective involvement highlights the focus on strong storytelling and immersive character work.
Epictellers’ successful Kickstarter campaign, which achieved its funding goal within 80 minutes and exceeded it by hundreds of thousands of dollars, allowed the studio to assemble this notable cast. Tatasciore, recognized from titles including The Outer Worlds 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Tomlinson, known for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and Final Fantasy XVI, are among those lending their talents. Medína, Alexander, and Ravassa contribute to the game’s diverse character roster, ensuring that voice acting will be a central part of the player experience. This combination of industry-experienced talent and dedicated direction underlines Epictellers’ commitment to delivering a high-quality cRPG.
With the upcoming demo, players will have the chance to experience early gameplay and explore the narrative-driven world of Starfinder: Afterlight. The game’s early access release is expected later in 2026, giving cRPG enthusiasts a new option to enjoy a blend of turn-based combat, strategic decision-making, and a sci-fi universe enriched with detailed voice performances. Starfinder: Afterlight positions itself as a title for both longtime fans of role-playing games and newcomers introduced to the genre through recent hits, offering a fully voiced, story-driven experience in a futuristic setting.
