Sindh has become the first province in Pakistan to launch a fully digital platform for government job applications with the introduction of the Sindh Job Portal (SJP). The portal, inaugurated by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, represents a major step toward digitizing recruitment processes and promoting transparent and accessible employment opportunities for citizens across the province. Developed jointly by the Sindh Science and Information Technology Department and Sukkur IBA University, the initiative is designed to streamline hiring, eliminate delays, and ensure fairness in the selection process through a unified, AI-powered system.

Speaking at the launch event, CM Sindh said the initiative reflects Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s vision of employment for all, referencing her iconic slogan, “Benazir Aaie Hae – Rozgar Laie Hae.” He shared that the Sindh government will bear the full cost for a candidate’s first test attempt, while those who do not pass may retake the test multiple times. So far, 326,000 candidates have successfully cleared recruitment tests, with new testing rounds to be held every month. Results will be made available immediately after each test to maintain transparency and efficiency. Once candidates upload their educational credentials, CNIC, and domicile information, a centralized database managed by Sukkur IBA will automatically generate profiles of qualified individuals eligible for government employment.

The Sindh Job Portal functions as a digital bridge connecting job-seeking youth with government departments offering vacancies. Each department is now responsible for uploading its job listings directly onto the portal, ensuring timely updates and centralized coordination. For example, when the Education Department requires 100 junior clerks, the Finance Department can instantly verify budget availability before approvals are granted. In the past, job advertisements were often published before financial clearance, causing administrative delays. With the new system, all financial approvals and job postings will be processed digitally, reducing inefficiencies and enabling real-time coordination among government departments. Shah added that job listings will appear on the portal the same day the Information Department advertises them, making recruitment faster, fairer, and more transparent for Sindh’s youth.

Initially launched for Grade 5 to Grade 15 positions, the Sindh Job Portal now covers all grades and integrates with the Screening Test Initiative, a joint effort with Sukkur IBA University for recruitment between BPS-5 and BPS-15. The platform includes advanced features such as AI-based job matching, voice-enabled search in Urdu and English, and multilingual support in Urdu, Sindhi, and English. It also integrates real-time verification systems with the Health Department and Sindh Police Special Branch to validate medical and character records. The system automatically prevents duplicate employment entries and keeps candidates informed through SMS, email, and portal notifications. Applicants can sign up using their CNIC and mobile number, verify through a one-time password, and manage their information via the STS portal.

By automating recruitment and enhancing coordination between departments, the Sindh government aims to strengthen transparency, reduce manual processing, and make job opportunities accessible to all eligible citizens. The Sindh Job Portal stands as a major advancement in e-governance, ensuring inclusivity and accountability while empowering young professionals to pursue government careers through a modern, technology-driven system.
