Citizens seeking benefits under the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme can now call a round the clock helpline, 021-111-374-634, set up by the Sindh Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department. The department notified the helpline in line with a September 16, 2026 letter from the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, Directorate General (Oil), which called for a public facilitation mechanism under the scheme. The move gives Sindh residents a direct phone based channel for support, complementing the SMS based registration system already in place for the broader nationwide scheme.
The helpline operates from the Motor Registration Wing on the third floor of the Civic Centre (KDA) in Karachi, serving as a designated facilitation centre and point of contact for citizens, and it takes calls 24 hours a day. Officials staffing the helpline will guide callers on the registration procedure, eligibility criteria, and other requirements of the scheme, while also explaining how to avail the benefits and answering general queries about its implementation. This kind of dedicated phone support addresses a gap for citizens who may struggle with the SMS based registration process used under the federal scheme, which requires applicants to send their CNIC number, vehicle plate details, province, and registration date in a specific format to 9771.
Notably, the same helpline number, 021-111-374-634, was originally established back in April 2026 for a separate Sindh specific motorcycle fuel subsidy programme, under which registered motorcycle owners received Rs2,000 per month to offset rising petrol costs amid the earlier Middle East driven fuel price surge. That earlier scheme also relied on the Excise and Taxation Department’s online verification and registration system, requiring applicants to enter their CNIC and bank account details for automated confirmation. Repurposing the same number for the newer, federally run Fuel Relief Scheme suggests the department is consolidating its citizen facing support infrastructure rather than standing up an entirely separate phone line for each new subsidy programme that comes through.
Although the facility is based in Karachi, it will serve citizens across Pakistan, with a particular focus on residents of Sindh, and the department said the mechanism took effect immediately following the September 16 directive. For citizens navigating what has become an increasingly layered set of fuel relief measures, spanning the federal Rs100 per litre scheme and Sindh’s own provincial subsidy history, having a single provincial helpline number that can address queries across these overlapping programmes may help reduce confusion, provided call volumes don’t overwhelm the Motor Registration Wing’s capacity to handle a 24/7 support line serving a national user base.
