The Sindh government has decided to provide live career counseling to youth through the iWork4Sindh platform, with the initiative set to begin this month. Senior Minister of Sindh for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said experts from various industries will offer career counseling sessions to youth as part of the expanded programme.
According to Memon, 4,935 people have registered so far through the iWork4Sindh Learn and Earn platform, of whom 2,735 have completed various courses while 2,000 remain currently enrolled in different courses. Under the Learn and Earn programme, more than 1,200 internationally recognized short courses are being offered to participants, with the platform designed to equip young people with practical, market relevant skills alongside employment opportunities.
Memon said iWork4Sindh is not only connecting youth with employment opportunities but also equipping them with modern skills suited to the changing global job market. What began as a pilot project has since evolved into a comprehensive platform aimed at empowering youth through digital means, reflecting the Sindh government’s broader push to adopt digital platforms and modern technology in workforce development. He noted that continuously growing public participation on the platform reflects its strong acceptance among the youth of Sindh, with the platform recording more than 5.1 million visits and over 119,000 registered candidates to date.
The Senior Minister added that more than 16,000 job opportunities are currently active on the platform, while a total of over 23,400 job opportunities have been posted since its launch, with 695 companies now registered on iWork4Sindh. He said the Sindh government’s objective is to provide employment opportunities to youth through digital means and prepare them according to the demands of the modern economy, positioning iWork4Sindh as a significant initiative aimed at bringing together employment, skills development, and opportunity under a single digital platform.
