Shell Pakistan Ignites Innovation with 11th Tameer Awards

In a celebration of creativity and ingenuity, Shell Pakistan hosted the 11th Tameer Awards 2024. This prestigious event showcased the brightest young minds in Pakistan, highlighting their groundbreaking ideas and solutions that are poised to revolutionize the country’s economic landscape.

A panel of esteemed judges, comprising business leaders, industry experts, and academic professionals, evaluated the candidates and selected the winners and runners-up in each category. The judges were impressed by the exceptional talent and creativity displayed by the young finalists.

Shell Tameer Awards have become a benchmark for innovative thinking in Pakistan, providing a platform for young visionaries to share their ideas and connect with like-minded individuals. This year’s event attracted over 400 applications, with 30 finalists selected across six categories.

The grand winners of the 11th Tameer Awards 2024 were a testament to the innovative spirit of young Pakistanis. A look at the winners from this year:

  • The Natural Fiber Company by Mohammad Faraz Khokhar transforms banana stem waste into eco-friendly products like ropes, fabric, and bags.
  • Green City by Zain Ali Siddiqui is a smart energy management system that optimizes renewable energy use through AI and data analytics.
  • DiabEazy by Mahnoor Rizwan is an AI-powered diabetes management platform offering personalized solutions, telemedicine, educational resources, and a supportive community.
  • Fortify by Sidra Shakeel is a SaaS-based ERP solution tailored for real estate businesses, streamlining operations like rent collection, CRM, financial management; automating processes and improving decision-making.
  • Naya Raasta by Fahd Ahmed Farid is an idea to build green roads to reduce heat in cities by using titanium dioxide and dyes in road material to reflect sunlight, improving road durability and lowering maintenance costs.
  • EcoFoil – Seal the Flavour by Maryam Butt is an idea offering reusable, chemical-free alternative to plastic wrap and foil, reducing waste and pollution.

The runners-up in each category were Royella Foods for Circular Economy, Voltshare Technology for Clean Energy Solutions, Zarai Baramdaat for Empowering Women, LibXR for Technology Innovation, EV Square for Transportation and Mobility, and EF-3F (Environment Friendly Fuel, Feed, Fertilizer) for Bright Ideas.

Waqar Siddiqui, Chief Executive & Managing Director of Shell Pakistan Limited, stated:

“We are proud to support the innovative spirit of young Pakistanis through the Tameer Awards. These talented individuals are the future of our country, and we are committed to providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed.”

Since its inception, the Tameer program has aimed to build up a culture of innovation in Pakistan. Over a million youth have been engaged through this program, with 10 Pakistani entrepreneurs winning International Trade Grants worth PKR 3.8 million to visit seven countries and expand their market globally.

Nine Tameer entrepreneurs have also won the global Shell ‘Top Ten Innovators Awards worth PKR 10.4 million, receiving global and national recognition. Initiatives like Tameer play a vital role in driving growth, creating jobs, and shaping the country’s future. We eagerly anticipate the impact that these talented young innovators will have on the country’s economic landscape.
