The Sindh Higher Education Commission has launched the Sindh Blockchain Skills Development Initiative, a heavily subsidised training programme for undergraduate students across the province aimed at building practical blockchain expertise and preparing a new generation of technology professionals for careers in the digital economy.

The programme is being offered through the commission’s Directorate of Strategic Planning and covers industry-oriented blockchain training, smart contracts, decentralised applications, blockchain security fundamentals, hands-on project development, mentorship, and capstone projects, culminating in a professional certification for participants who complete the curriculum. The training is structured to give students not only theoretical grounding but direct practical experience in building blockchain-based solutions, making the certification a demonstration of applied competence rather than a purely academic credential. To make the programme financially accessible to as wide a student base as possible, the Sindh Higher Education Commission is sponsoring 85 percent of the total programme cost, requiring participants to contribute only Rs. 5,000 from their own funds.

The initiative will be delivered through four of Sindh’s leading academic institutions: NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, the Institute of Business Administration Karachi, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology in Jamshoro, and Sukkur IBA University in Sukkur. The geographic spread across Karachi, Jamshoro, and Sukkur ensures that students from across the province have access to the programme rather than it being concentrated solely in the provincial capital. Eligibility is open to undergraduate students currently in their third or final year who are enrolled in engineering or general universities chartered by the Government of Sindh. Applications must be submitted by June 25, 2026, with classes scheduled to commence on July 13, 2026. Eligible students can apply through the official application portal.
