Samsung appears to be reviving the Galaxy Tab S Plus form factor after a one-generation absence, with fresh reports suggesting that the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus is in development and on course for a launch later this year. According to a tip from SamMobile, the device is expected to arrive in September 2026, alongside the anticipated Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, marking a return to a product tier that Samsung skipped entirely when it launched the Galaxy Tab S11 lineup without a corresponding Plus variant. The development suggests Samsung may be moving toward an alternating cadence for its tablet lineup, offering a Plus model every other generation while maintaining the Ultra as a constant presence at the top of the range.
On the hardware front, the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus is expected to feature a 12.4-inch OLED panel with a QHD Plus resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, keeping it in line with the premium display standards the series is known for. Power is rumoured to come from the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Plus processor, paired with at least 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of onboard storage, with the possibility of further expansion via a microSD card slot. One of the more notable upgrades is the battery, which is tipped to come in at around 10,500 milliampere-hours, representing a four to five percent increase over the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus if the leaked figure proves accurate.
Other features expected to carry over from the broader Galaxy Tab S family include quad speakers, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, 45-watt wired charging support, and a bundled S Pen stylus. While these specifications are considered likely rather than confirmed at this stage, their omission from a flagship-tier Samsung tablet would be unusual given how consistently they have appeared across the range. Camera specifications have not been detailed in the current leak, though for a device of this class the primary draw remains the display, processing performance, and productivity features rather than imaging capability. With a September window now in circulation, the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus is shaping up to be one of the more closely watched Android tablet launches of the second half of 2026.
