Zong 5G has appointed Saira Mirza as Deputy Director of Corporate Brand, Communications and Sustainability, bringing over 16 years of experience across Pakistan’s telecom and financial services sectors to one of the country’s most prominent fifth-generation network operators. The appointment positions Mirza to lead brand strategy and corporate communications as Zong expands its fifth-generation network across 21 cities nationwide following its March 2026 commercial launch.

Mirza previously held senior leadership positions at HBL Microfinance Bank, FINCA Microfinance Bank, Telenor Pakistan, and Warid Telecom, with her career spanning integrated communications, corporate sustainability, reputation management, and purpose-led brand strategy. Her tenure across both telecom and financial services has given her a breadth of experience in managing brand evolution during periods of technological transition and market consolidation, a background that is particularly relevant as Zong navigates its transformation from a conventional mobile operator into a full-service digital services provider underpinned by fifth-generation infrastructure.

In her new role, Mirza will lead Zong 5G’s corporate brand strategy, strengthen internal and external communications, and support the company’s vision of building a future-ready and premium brand presence in Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape. The role also includes overseeing sustainability initiatives as Zong deploys over 1,000 fifth-generation sites nationwide in 2026. Recognised as a respected industry voice, Mirza also serves as a jury member for the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations, Dragons of Asia, and MAD Stars, giving Zong direct access to emerging brand trends and creative excellence benchmarks across Asian markets at a time when the operator is competing aggressively to establish itself as Pakistan’s premium fifth-generation brand ahead of Jazz and Ufone, both of which also secured fifth-generation licences in the March 2026 spectrum auction.
