In a bid to strengthen economic collaboration, the African nation of Rwanda has expressed keen interest in importing mobile phones from Pakistan. A high-level delegation from Rwanda, led by Senate President Dr. Kalinda Francois, engaged in detailed discussions with Caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Dr. Umar Saif, covering bilateral issues, information and communication technology, and the potential import of Pakistani-manufactured mobile phones.

Dr. Umar Saif revealed that the Rwandan government’s interest in sourcing smartphones from Pakistan will be further deliberated with local mobile manufacturers. He underscored the global trend of investing in Pakistan and exporting its products, with a particular focus on African countries like Rwanda emerging as significant markets for Pakistani smartphones.

The minister provided insights into the upcoming smartphone installment program by the IT Ministry and indicated ongoing discussions to address the necessary prerequisites for potential mobile phone exports to Rwanda.
