It’s A Wrap! RCCI ICT Awards 2017 Recognize 15 Companies

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized second ICT Awards (Information Communication Technology Awards) here in Rawalpindi where Chief Guest for the event was Minister of State Ms Anusha Rehman.

The RCCI President Raja Amer Iqbal, Senior Vice President Rashid Waien, Vice President Asim Malik, Group leaders, former presidents, Chairman ICT Committee Raja Omar, Chairman PTA Ismail Shah , MD Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Vice chairman IT committee Col. Aziz Ahmad, and officials, CEOs of leading IT and Telecom companies, government officials and members of the RCCI executive committee were also present on the occasion.

The awards were spread across 15 distinct categories.

  1. ICT Company of the Year Award: Trillium Information Security Systems
  2. Excellence in Software Export award: NetSol Technologies Inc.
  3. Excellence in Telecommunication: Telenor Pakistan
  4. Excellence in E-Governance: Power Information Technology Company
  5. Technology Innovation Award: Auto-Soft Dynamics Pvt. Limited
  6. Excellence in E-Finance won by NetSol Technologies Inc.
  7. ICT Implementation Award: Teradata
  8. Domestic Revenue Achievement Award: Inbox Technologies Pvt. Ltd
  9. Best Health Information System Award: CureMD
  10. Excellence in Mobile Healthcare Award: TeleSehat Private Limited
  11. Public E-Health Solution Award: Rescue 1122
  12. Technology Implementation in Healthcare: Shifa International Hospital Ltd.
  13. Healthcare Technology Innovation Award: Sybrid Pvt Ltd.
  14. Excellence In Healthcare Software Export: Medical Transcription Billing Corporation (MTBC)
  15. Defence Technology Award: Pakistan Ordnance Factory

Anusha Rahman, while addressing the ceremony, appreciated the role of RCCI in promoting IT sector and entrepreneurship. The minister shared her vision of a Digital Pakistan and building a digital economy through IT, freelancing work, startups, e-commerce and mobile apps are the future of Pakistan

IT ministry is working on testing of 5G, first country in the Asia. Pakistan recently won GSMA award and ranked No 3. Freelancing industry has 100 million dollar documented industry in Pakistan and potential is more than 1 billion dollar, she added. We are working on a project to make every village with connectivity, 100 member villages will be given access to at least one mobile tower access by 2030.

RCCI President Raja Amer Iqbal, in his address said that the Rawalpindi Chamber is the only Chamber of the country arranging such awards. RCCI had organized its first Information and Communication Technology Awards in 2015 which was also for the first time in the region.

This year we organized the 3rd RCCI ICT Awards with the same fervor. The Awards aim at giving merit based recognition to those in the IT sector who have showed up to the mark performance in the year, he added. This creates an atmosphere of healthy competition among the IT giants and the startups.

Raja Amer Iqbal, reiterated the importance of awards and recognition of the ICT industry and RCCI’s effort in promoting local talent. He went on to say:

 “RCCI ICT AWARDS aims at honoring Pakistani companies at the cutting edge of technology innovation as well as leading professionals across ICT industry of Pakistan”

Chairman PTA, in his address said that numbers of internet users are increasing remarkably. PTA being regulator has increased its capacity to address the issues related IT sector, by channelizing and working on legislation and streamlining the process of e-commerce.
