The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has earned international recognition for its innovative use of technology in public safety and digital governance, marking another milestone for Pakistan’s digital transformation efforts. The authority received the 2026 Leadership in the Prevention of Vehicle Crimes Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), recognizing its technology-driven approach to combating vehicle-related crime. In addition, its flagship “Mera Pyara” Virtual Centre for Child Safety was named a Champion Project in the e-governance category at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Awards 2026.

PSCA also achieved further global recognition as its Virtual Women Police Station and Virtual Centre for Child Safety were included among the world’s top e-governance initiatives. These digital platforms have transformed the delivery of public safety services by enabling citizens to access police assistance, child protection services and emergency support through technology-driven solutions. The recognition highlights Pakistan’s growing role in developing citizen-centric digital services that improve accessibility, efficiency and public trust.

The awards reflect Punjab’s continued investment in smart policing, artificial intelligence and digital public services to enhance law enforcement and community safety. Through advanced surveillance systems, virtual support centres and technology-enabled policing, the authority has strengthened crime prevention while expanding access to critical public services. These initiatives demonstrate how digital innovation can improve governance by delivering faster, more transparent and more responsive services to citizens.

The international recognition reinforces Pakistan’s growing presence in the global digital governance landscape and showcases the country’s progress in adopting technology to address public sector challenges. As digital transformation continues across government institutions, initiatives like those developed by PSCA are expected to serve as models for future innovation in public safety, citizen services and e-governance.
