On September 4, 2025, Tech Valley, Google for Education, and the School Education Department, Government of Punjab, will inaugurate the province’s first Google for Education Center of Excellence at Government Pilot Higher Secondary School, Lahore. The initiative is positioned as a milestone in efforts to make Punjab the AI hub of Pakistan and is expected to serve as a reference model for the integration of digital learning tools in public education. Equipped with Google Chromebooks provided by Intel, Allied, and NRTC, the center will enable research, training, and the testing of scalable models to guide AI adoption across schools in Punjab.

The Center of Excellence is designed to bridge the public–private education gap and ensure inclusive access to technology-enabled learning. It represents a policy-level commitment by Punjab to embrace digital transformation in education, focusing on AI-powered tools that enhance teaching and learning. Among the solutions to be piloted at the center is Google Workspace integrated with Gemini AI, which will allow students and teachers to collaborate more effectively by helping them write, visualize, and organize their work in smarter ways. By embedding AI in classrooms, the initiative aims to create interactive, engaging learning environments that are aligned with global standards.

In addition to productivity tools, the center will deploy AI tutoring through Read Along, Google’s AI-powered reading assistant. This solution will support English language learning among students while providing teachers with real-time insights into individual progress. By combining personalized learning with data-driven teaching strategies, Read Along is expected to improve outcomes and foster better engagement in language skills. To further strengthen education policy, each student will receive a secure Google ID that enables anonymized insights into performance and learning trends. This data-driven approach will give policymakers the ability to refine curriculum design and teaching strategies based on evidence rather than assumptions.

Tech Valley will play a central role in managing training and policy efforts linked to this initiative. Through the Gemini Academy for Educators, teachers will be trained to use AI-powered tools effectively, building their digital literacy and enabling them to integrate these technologies into everyday classroom practices. The goal is to ensure that educators are not only equipped with tools but also empowered with the skills and confidence to use them. Beyond classrooms, the broader objective is to position Punjab as a leader in educational innovation, where public schools can set benchmarks for inclusive and scalable adoption of digital learning technologies.

The inauguration event is invite-only, bringing together educators, school leaders, IT administrators, and policymakers to see live demonstrations of classroom deployments. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage directly with experts on how Chromebooks and Google for Education solutions can be implemented at scale across the province. Registration for the event is open online, with confirmed participants to receive invitations via email. Organizers emphasize that this launch is not only about technology but also about shaping a future-ready education system that leverages AI to ensure quality learning for all students across Punjab.
