Punjab Information Technology Board has received approximately sixteen thousand applications for its Global Information Technology Certifications Program since September of 2024, demonstrating significant interest among young professionals in obtaining internationally recognized certifications. The initiative is designed to equip the youth with globally accepted digital competencies, enhancing their employability and providing opportunities to engage in the international information technology workforce. This update was shared during a progress review meeting presided over by the Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board, Faisal Yousaf. The meeting was attended by Director General of e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director of the Skills Development Wing Chaudhry Ahmed Islam, and other senior officials who provided a detailed briefing on the status of the program and the milestones achieved so far.

During the meeting, it was reported that eligibility verification has been successfully completed for over eight thousand five hundred candidates, ensuring that all applicants meet the program requirements. Payment verification for five hundred eleven candidates has been finalized, while the process for reimbursement of certification fees for four hundred one certifications is currently underway. Furthermore, two hundred seventy-three successful candidates who have completed their certifications have already received full reimbursement of their certification fees directly into their respective bank accounts. The structured verification and reimbursement process demonstrates the board’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the efficient facilitation of internationally recognized qualifications for participants.

Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized that the primary objective of the Global Information Technology Certifications Program is to empower youth with digital skills that are recognized worldwide, enabling them to compete effectively in the global information technology market. In response to the enthusiastic participation and the evolving requirements of the industry, the scope of the program has been expanded to offer more than one hundred twenty internationally recognized certifications. These certifications cover a wide range of areas, including software development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, and other emerging information technology fields, reflecting the board’s commitment to equipping youth with practical and industry-relevant competencies.

The Global Information Technology Certifications Program forms an integral part of the Punjab Information Technology Board’s broader strategy to strengthen the digital ecosystem, enhance workforce capabilities, and foster innovation in Pakistan. By providing access to globally recognized certifications, the initiative bridges the gap between academic knowledge and professional industry requirements, empowering young professionals to take on high-value roles in both domestic and international markets. With continued monitoring, verification, and reimbursement measures, the Punjab Information Technology Board seeks to ensure that the program continues to deliver measurable benefits to participants and contributes meaningfully to the development of a digitally skilled workforce capable of driving technological growth and innovation across Pakistan.
