In a groundbreaking ceremony marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Naqvi unveiled the Enabled Online Portal, a cutting-edge initiative developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The event, attended by Dr. Javed Akram, Secretary Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Punjab, Dr. Zahoor Hassan, Director General Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Punjab, and Dr. Riaz Malik, PITB Additional Director General, celebrated the launch of this revolutionary platform.

The Enabled initiative represents a transformative approach to aiding Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The digitized ecosystem of the portal streamlines the collection of assistive equipment requests, including wheelchairs, hearing aids, and canes, from PWDs already registered at the Disabled Person Management Information System (DPMIS). The platform then connects them with registered donors ready to fund these requests, ensuring an efficient and transparent process.

Led by the project team, Dr. Riaz Malik, PITB Additional Director General, and potential donors, the event showcased the portal’s capabilities in creating a seamless process from donation to delivery. The portal also includes registered vendors responsible for supplying contributed items through courier services, guaranteeing that each donation directly benefits the intended recipient.

The Social Welfare Department Directorate will oversee the entire process, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and efficiency. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the PITB project team members by Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Naqvi, underscoring the importance of their contributions to this noble cause.

Those interested in supporting this initiative can register as donors or vendors on the portal: https://lnkd.in/gjUvFs2u
