In order to educate its female employees on the prevention and early detection of the disease, Pakistan’s largest telecommunications company, PTCL & Ufone 4G, concluded its month-long breast cancer awareness campaign by hosting a webinar in partnership with Maroof International Hospital, Islamabad.

The webinar marked the end of the awareness campaign coordinated with the worldwide “Pinktober” campaign. Dr. Saira Mehmood, the guest speaker, emphasised the significance of self-examination for early detection, which she claimed can ensure a full recovery from the otherwise fatal illness.

Early in October, PTCL and Ufone 4G launched their “Pinktober” campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer by painting their buildings in vibrant pink and changing the corporate logos across all digital platforms.

To raise awareness among all of its users, the Group also ran an SMS broadcast campaign in conjunction with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. The female staff was encouraged to check their breasts each week in order to look for any early symptoms or indicators of illness.

In addition, PTCL and Ufone conducted a thorough digital campaign called “The Pink Club” to educate all female employees about the illness and its risk factors.
All PTCL and Ufone employees wore pink ribbons throughout the month of October to demonstrate their unwavering dedication to the campaign to eradicate breast cancer in Pakistan.

In Pakistan, the PTCL Group is driving corporate initiatives for breast cancer prevention. The Campaign aimed to raise awareness of the disease, which not only threatens precious lives but also has a significant social and economic impact due to the high cost of medical care and patient care.

A significant decline in the incidence of breast cancer is anticipated in Pakistan over the next few years due to the country’s remarkable collective willingness to eradicate the disease.
