PTA has issued a fresh reminder urging mobile users across Pakistan to register their devices to avoid possible service interruptions. The authority has highlighted that unregistered GSMA-valid devices may face blocking if not registered within the stipulated period. This public notice is part of PTA’s ongoing efforts to ensure all devices operating on local networks comply with national regulations.

According to the communication, users are advised to check their device status by retrieving their International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. This can be done by dialing *#06# on their mobile handsets. Once the IMEI number is displayed, users can send it to 8484 to confirm the registration status of their devices. PTA stressed that this simple step will help mobile subscribers quickly verify whether their device is already compliant with the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS).

If the IMEI of a GSMA-valid device is found to be unregistered, users can initiate the registration process immediately. PTA has provided multiple options to facilitate the process: dialing *8484# from the mobile device or visiting the official DIRBS website at https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/. These channels are designed to make the procedure straightforward and accessible to all subscribers, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

The authority emphasized that timely registration is crucial for keeping devices active on mobile networks. Unregistered devices risk being blocked, which could disrupt communication and services for their users. PTA’s campaign serves as a reminder for mobile subscribers to take preventive measures without delay. By ensuring their devices are registered, consumers can safeguard uninterrupted access to voice, data, and other mobile network services across Pakistan.

This initiative reflects PTA’s ongoing regulatory efforts to streamline the use of mobile devices in the country. By urging the public to complete registration promptly, the authority is working to maintain a secure and organized telecom environment, supporting both service providers and end-users.
