Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) swiftly responded to widespread concerns about the recent internet slowdown experienced across the country. A spokesperson for PTA assured the public that complaints regarding the slowdown are currently under investigation, reaffirming their dedication to ensuring a smooth online experience for users.

While PTA acknowledges disruptions on popular social media platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube during the previous night, the overall status of internet accessibility in the nation seems normal. The spokesperson urged responsible media reporting, emphasizing the need for accurate information to prevent unnecessary panic.

Users reported a noticeable slowdown in internet speed and disruptions on various websites after 8 PM. Concerns persisted into the late hours, with Netblocks, a real-time platform monitoring internet freedom, confirming nationwide disruption to social media platforms in Pakistan. PTA continues to investigate the matter to address and rectify any issues affecting internet services.
