PTA has introduced a simplified process for businesses and freelancers to register their VPNs. The move aims to streamline the registration process and ensure uninterrupted access to online services for IT companies, call centers, banks, embassies, and freelancers.

To register a VPN, applicants must fill out an online form on the PTA’s official website, providing details such as CNIC number, company registration information, and tax registration status. Freelancers will need to submit proof of their association with a project or company.

PTA has emphasized that the registration process is free of charge and typically takes less than 10 hours to complete. Over 20,000 companies and freelancers have already successfully registered their VPNs.

PTA’s initiative to streamline VPN registration reflects its commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the IT industry in Pakistan. By simplifying the process, the authority aims to encourage innovation and facilitate the growth of the digital economy

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
