According to the terms of each license, Telenor Pakistan Limited (Rs. 154 million) and Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (Ufone) (Rs. 12 million) have paid the first annual instalment of the Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) Licenses for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) in full amounts of Rs. 166 million (or $0.744 million) to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The telecom regulator also received Rs. 1.88 billion ($8.76 million) earlier in August from CMPak Limited (Zong) as part of an upfront 50% renewal cost for its licence renewal in the year 2022.
Since 2021, PTA has been awarded Rs 9.57 billion (about $54.66 million) in response to cellular mobile licence renewals and spectrum auctions in AJ&K and GB.
