Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) data has revealed an increase in cellular subscribers from 190.18 million at the end of January 2024 to 191.46 million by the end of February.
The number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan also saw a rise from 128.79 million at the end of January to 132 million by the end of February. Moreover, cellular teledensity rose from 79.11 percent at the end of January to 79.51 percent by the end of February, while total teledensity increased from 80.2 percent to 80.6 percent during the same period.
The penetration of Next Generation Mobile Service (NGMS) increased from 53.57 percent at the end of January to 54.82 percent by the end of February.
In terms of individual operators, Jazz witnessed a decline in total 3G users from 3.388 million at the end of January to 3.536 million by the end of February. However, Jazz’s 4G users surged from 44.292 million to 46.389 million during the same period.
For Zong, 3G subscribers decreased from 2.162 million to 2.122 million from January to February, while the number of 4G users increased from 34.660 million to 35.249 million.
Telenor observed a decline in 3G subscribers from 2.280 million to 2.138 million, but an increase in 4G users from 23.560 million to 23.841 million over the same period.
Ufone’s 3G users stood at 2.347 million by the end of February compared to 2.190 million at the end of January. Additionally, the number of Ufone’s 4G users increased from 14.690 million to 14.800 million from January to February.
