Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have successfully conducted a raid in Tehsil/City Gambat, District Khairpur, against an illegal Internet Service Provider (ISP). The operation resulted in the confiscation of operational internet infrastructure and related equipment. Furthermore, one individual was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody by the FIA for further investigation.

PTA emphasized that this accomplishment demonstrates its unwavering commitment, vigilant monitoring, and persistent efforts to combat illegal internet service providers. Such actions are crucial in preventing tax evasion and revenue misreporting, thereby reducing losses to the national exchequer, according to a statement by the authority.

The public is urged to exercise caution and obtain telecom services solely from PTA-licensed operators to avoid any disruption in service. A list of licensed operators can be found on the PTA’s website.
