Pakistan Software Export Board has successfully concluded the 9th edition of its Global Advocacy and Industry Network, or GAIN, Online Awareness and Engagement Session, held under the theme “Inclusive Leadership to Global Scale: Building Export-Focused Tech Ventures from Pakistan.” The session was led by Tariq Khan, a faculty member at New York University and President of OPEN Global, who brought over two decades of senior leadership experience at global Fortune companies — including ING, Nationwide, and MetLife — to a focused conversation on what it takes for Pakistani technology firms to compete and grow in international markets.

The session centred on the role of inclusive leadership as a driver of innovation and export growth, exploring how the principles that govern high-performing global organisations can be adapted and applied within the context of Pakistan’s technology sector. Tariq Khan walked participants through a framework that addressed several interconnected dimensions of professional and organisational growth: fast-tracking market opportunities, strengthening leadership capabilities at the company and team level, leveraging global diaspora and professional networks, enhancing digital presence to attract international clients, and sharpening communication as a core business competency. Each of these areas was framed not as a standalone skill but as part of a coherent strategy for positioning Pakistani technology companies as credible, competitive players on the world stage.

The GAIN series has become one of PSEB’s most consistent platforms for connecting Pakistani technology industry stakeholders with internationally experienced practitioners and thought leaders, and the ninth edition reinforced that purpose with a session that was both practically grounded and globally informed. By pairing academic excellence with real-world executive experience, Tariq Khan’s engagement offered participants a perspective that is difficult to access through conventional industry forums within Pakistan. The session was organised under the broader mandate of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Pakistan and PSEB’s Tech Destination Pakistan vision, which seeks to expand Pakistan’s share of global technology exports by investing in the human capital and leadership capacity of its technology workforce.
