Technology continues to surprise us every day, with newer, smart inventions making our lives simpler. Home appliances, laptops, Smartphones, and countless other gadgets- everything now is a touch away. The world is almost in your hand with the advancement of technology and modernization and the creations of the geniuses given form.
How far does this go?
3D printing is an invention, overwhelming many of us by its results on how literally anything can be printed and take form of a tangible object. We witnessed in recent news that informed us about the infrastructure in China which was made with the help of a 3D printer. Moreover, edible food, decoration pieces, surprisingly even functional guns, along with replicas of humans and organs that were actually used by doctors and made functional.
Grace Choi, a Harvard graduate figured out a way to 3D print makeup from any home computer, and the results are magnificent.
She carried out a little research and realized that various beauty brands create and then majorly mark up their products by mixing lots of colors.
At the Tech Crunch she said, “The makeup industry makes a whole lot of money on a whole lot of bulls—,” Furthermore they charge a hefty premium on something that technology provides for free – that one thing being, color.”
She elaborated on the statement mentioning that color printers are available to everyone, and the ink they use is the same as the ink that makeup companies use in their products. She adds to that stating, the ink is FDA-approved.
Choi created her own DIY mini home 3D printer with her innovative skills shining bright- Mink will retail for $300 and allow anyone to print makeup by ripping the color code off color photos on the internet. It hooks up to a computer, just like a normal printer.
The demonstration of how it works was provided by her and with the help of a brush she applied some of the freshly printed makeup onto her hand.
Ladies, be the creator of your own make-up line, invest in purchasing this printer and spoil yourself. No more waiting for the next lip shade to be available in the market, or the set of seasonal shades of eye shadow.
Way to go Choi!
