Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing the 8th Future Investment Initiative (FII) summit in Riyadh, urged for global partnerships and investments to drive innovation in Pakistan’s knowledge-based economy. He emphasized the nation’s commitment to AI, education, and healthcare, sectors he identified as pivotal for Pakistan’s future growth. At the two-day event themed “Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow,” Sharif invited international collaboration, noting, “Pakistan is ready to partner with those who dare to dream big.”

Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to build a resilient and innovation-driven economy, calling on nations to collaborate on shared challenges that transcend borders. Noting the vital role of AI, he said Pakistan is not only embracing the technology but also training its youth to become skilled engineers and data scientists to excel in AI across industries. Alongside Saudi Arabia and other allies, he envisions AI as a tool for positive change, free from biases and geared towards economic growth.

He underscored the potential of Pakistan’s youth, calling them “talented, resilient, and ready for emerging challenges.” Drawing inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Sharif expressed Pakistan’s commitment to empowering its youth with education and digital skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. Reforms like the Daanish Schools and the Education Endowment Fund, he said, have made quality education accessible to thousands, transforming them into tomorrow’s professionals, innovators, and community leaders.

In healthcare, the prime minister stressed cross-border collaboration in areas like genome sequencing and personalized medicine, envisioning a future where Pakistan’s medical professionals advance healthcare standards globally. He praised institutions like the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), NUST, and Aga Khan University for their contributions to diagnostics and disease prevention.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s journey toward sustainable development, Sharif called on global leaders to pursue collective growth, innovation, and human advancement, adding that such goals can only be achieved with peace, especially in regions like Gaza. He expressed deep gratitude to Saudi leadership for hosting the FII summit, which gathered leaders and experts to discuss the future of global investments. Sharif concluded with a vision of limitless possibilities, inviting the world to shape a shared future that transcends borders.
