The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), in collaboration with the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department, has officially launched the registration process for the January e-Auction of exclusive vehicle number plates. Interested individuals can now register for the auction through the newly developed e-Auction App or Web Portal, with the registration deadline set for January 30, 2025.

The e-Auction initiative aims to revolutionize how citizens acquire attractive and sought-after number plates for both motorcycles and cars. The system introduces a convenient, transparent, and accessible process that allows individuals to bid for their preferred number plates from the comfort of their homes. Once the auction concludes, details of successful bidders will be available through the app, ensuring ease of access to the results.

The online platform also includes additional features designed to facilitate a seamless experience for users. These include a tax calculator, which helps users estimate the tax liabilities associated with their vehicle, and a vehicle verification tool, ensuring that bidders have all necessary information before proceeding with their bids.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf praised the new system, stating,

“The e-Auction System has completely transformed the way vehicle number plates are auctioned in Punjab. It ensures complete transparency, eliminates corruption, and curtails the influence of agent mafias. Now, citizens can conveniently register and participate in the auction process online, giving them the opportunity to acquire the number plates of their choice.”

This initiative not only enhances convenience for the public but also reflects the ongoing digital transformation of government services in Pakistan. With the growing emphasis on transparency and digitization, the e-Auction platform stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to providing efficient services while reducing the possibility of corruption and fraud in public processes.

The PITB’s collaboration with the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department to introduce this system is part of a broader effort to modernize administrative processes and bring them in line with global standards. The e-Auction system ensures that the process of acquiring vehicle number plates is more streamlined, accessible, and free from intermediaries.

As the registration period for this month’s e-Auction continues, prospective bidders are encouraged to make use of the online platform to participate in what promises to be a more efficient and transparent process for securing exclusive vehicle number plates. The deadline for registration is fast approaching, making it essential for interested individuals to complete their registration before January 30, 2025.
