Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) have formalized a new partnership aimed at digitizing the end-to-end management of student scholarships across the province. The agreement outlines the development of a robust Scholarship Management System, which will be built using secure, scalable technologies tailored to the operational needs and vision of PEEF. The project seeks to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and speed of financial aid disbursements to thousands of deserving students in Punjab.

The contract signing ceremony was held in Lahore, where key officials from both organizations were present. PITB Director Development & Procurement Ata ur Rehman and PEEF CEO Muzaffar ul Haq Hashmi signed the agreement, with PITB Director General IT Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi chairing the event. Both institutions affirmed their shared commitment to using digital tools to support educational uplift and ensure equitable access to academic opportunities.

The system will digitize the entire lifecycle of PEEF’s scholarship program. From application processing and eligibility verification to approval workflows and fund disbursement, the system is expected to centralize and automate all core operations. The introduction of this platform is intended to eliminate paperwork bottlenecks, reduce manual errors, and provide a user-friendly interface for students and administrators alike.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf highlighted the broader impact of this initiative within the public sector digital transformation agenda. He noted that this collaboration reinforces PITB’s ongoing efforts to apply technology to improve service delivery in governance and education. He emphasized that the new digital platform will allow for timely, efficient scholarship disbursal and better oversight of the entire process. The digital system will also help in curbing delays and miscommunication often associated with manual procedures.

PEEF CEO Muzaffar ul Haq Hashmi shared that the fund has long supported meritorious and financially underprivileged students across Punjab and this initiative will further enable its mission by leveraging modern technology to expand outreach and optimize operational accuracy. With the new system in place, students will benefit from faster response times and greater clarity in the application and award process.

This initiative is one of several digital projects being spearheaded by PITB to transform public-facing services in the province. The move aligns with Punjab’s broader objectives of ensuring good governance, improving accountability, and increasing access to digital public utilities in education and beyond. As part of its implementation, the system will undergo phased deployment and testing before being fully rolled out across the province’s educational institutions.
