PGA Founder Sadia Bashir Wins Global Gaming Citizen Award by Facebook

Gaming and girls are two words that unfortunately are not synonymous with each other in Pakistan; however, breaking stereotypes is Sadia Bashir, a Pakistani entrepreneur and co-founder Pixel Art Games Academy. 

Sadia has recently won the Global Gaming Citizen Award at the Facebook Games Awards on Thursday 6th December 2018.  For the occasion, Facebook Gaming had teamed up with The Game Awards for a special presentation with the aim to look for stories on how games have helped build communities. She has many feather on her cap, as she has been featured on the Forbes’ 30 under 30 2018 list. 

The Pixel Art Games Academy based in Islamabad, provides a collaborative learning experience in game design and production, game programming, digital art and animation, all led by local and international industry professionals. The aim of PGA is to provide training and education for video game development, design and production, art and animation. They also work for community development, R&D for new technologies, capacity building, local industry collaboration, international industry exposure and visibility for local game developers.
