Peshawar Police, in order to improve its service delivery with the help of modern technology, has announced the launch its own mobile application for Android last week. The mobile app was unveiled by the Provincial Police Chief, Salahuddin Khan Mehsud and is now officially available on the Play Store.
According to the Provincial Police Chief, the aim of introducing this app was to improve the public service delivery with the help of technology, so that the system could ensure immediate access to the police in case of any emergency. He further added that people could report blast, robbery and other incidents through this app.

Through the app one can, dial free calls to the police department in case of emergency while one can also use it to report incidents of crimes and accidents to the cops. Pictures and videos about crimes and other incidents can also be shared with the police department, and one of the app features includes detailed contact information of the city’s police stations.
The official announcement on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Facebook page gave a detailed outline on what to expect from the mobile app.
Mehsud also said that the KP police are introducing new ideas to improve policing and that the police’s use of technology and research has brought crimes ratio to the lowest as compared to the previous year.
