Pakistan’s cellular subscriber base experienced a slight increase in August 2024, reaching 193.098 million from 192.924 million in July.

The number of 3G and 4G users also saw a rise, reaching 137.920 million in August from 136.312 million in July. This growth reflects the increasing adoption of advanced mobile technologies in Pakistan.

While the overall cellular teledensity remained at 79 percent, the Next Generation Mobile Service (NGMS) penetration increased slightly to 56.72 percent in August from 56.15 percent in July.

Among the major cellular operators, Jazz, Zong, and Telenor saw a decline in 3G subscribers but experienced growth in 4G users. Ufone’s 3G subscriber base decreased slightly, while its 4G user base increased.

Overall, the data indicates a positive trend in Pakistan’s telecom sector, with continued growth in cellular subscribers and adoption of advanced mobile technologies.
