On orders from the Ministry of Interior, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has requested mobile phone carriers to block voice and data, or just data in some circumstances, across specific regions in the country’s major cities.
Thousands of cell sites are currently offline as a result of government orders, according to reports. Services have been suspended in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and a number of other cities.
Due to security concerns, we are unable to give a list of places where services are down, however we can confirm that thousands of cell sites across all operators are currently unavailable.
It’s worth noting that the government instructed carriers to keep services paused in affected areas until further notice, implying that the outage will last longer.
