The tournament, which ran from August 5 to August 8, featured thirty two players competing for a share of the prize pool, with Zubair ultimately finishing as champion and earning three hundred thousand dollars in prize money along with one thousand Club Championship points.
Zubair’s path to the title was notable given his relatively limited experience on the international stage before the tournament. According to the Esports World Cup, he made his international debut only two months before the event, when he was eliminated during the pool stage of an earlier competition. He returned to Paris through the Last Chance Qualifier, fighting his way back into contention before eventually claiming the Tekken 8 championship, a trajectory that officials described as remarkable for a player with such a brief competitive history at this level.
In the grand final, Zubair faced LowHigh, one of the established names in the international Tekken scene, and did not drop a single game across the deciding match, sealing a dominant five to zero result to secure the biggest title of his career. Along the way to the final, he also battled through the tournament’s qualification route and defeated several high profile opponents, including a notable win over fellow Pakistani player Arslan Ash. The final standings placed Zubair first, followed by LowHigh in second, Australia’s Yagami in third, and Arslan Ash in fourth, with LowHigh earning one hundred and thirty thousand dollars, Yagami taking home seventy thousand dollars, and Arslan Ash receiving fifty thousand dollars for his placement.
The victory adds another significant chapter to Pakistan’s growing reputation in competitive Tekken, a fighting game in which the country has increasingly established itself among the sport’s stronger competitive nations. Players such as Arslan Ash and Atif Butt have already built international recognition in the same discipline, and Zubair’s win is expected to further reinforce that standing on the global stage.
