Car enthusiasts in Pakistan have a long history of crafting replicas of high-end luxury vehicles, blending ingenuity and resourcefulness to replicate globally admired designs. Recently, a remarkable feat of automotive creativity emerged from Gujranwala, where engineer Wali Muhammad successfully built a striking replica of Tesla’s iconic “Cybertruck.”

This locally crafted Cybertruck, which has taken social media by storm, was designed and assembled at Mughal Safeguard’s Sialkot Road, Civil Lines branch. The project was initiated at the request of a client who wanted a vehicle resembling Tesla’s futuristic Cybertruck. Wali Muhammad, a skilled artisan associated with Mughal Safeguard, took up the challenge and created the vehicle for a cost of approximately Rs. 3 million.

The vehicle’s design showcases remarkable attention to detail, closely mirroring the original Cybertruck’s unique, angular, stainless-steel bodywork. The result has been hailed as a testament to local innovation and engineering prowess. A spokesperson for Mughal Safeguard explained:

“The client approached us with a vision for a car inspired by the Cybertruck. Wali Muhammad meticulously worked on the design and built the vehicle within a budget of Rs. 3 million. Custom projects like this are a regular part of our operations, where we cater to specific client requests for unique vehicle builds.”

The replica has since gone viral on social media, earning the moniker “Pakistani Tesla.” Videos and images of the local Cybertruck have garnered widespread attention, with social media users praising Pakistani creativity and humorously inviting Tesla CEO Elon Musk to take note.

One user, Saad Qaiser, joked,

“Pakistan’s first locally made Cybertruck. Elon Musk, it’s time to open a manufacturing plant in Pakistan. The government is working day and night.”

Another user, Khalid Mustafa, added,

“Elon Musk, your Cybertruck prototype is roaming the streets of Pakistan. Local engineers have given your design a desi twist. Check out this masterpiece!”

The original Cybertruck, unveiled by Elon Musk in 2019, is a revolutionary electric pickup truck known for its bold stainless steel design, adaptable suspension, and armored windows. With a starting price of $80,000, it remains a luxury product out of reach for most. However, the local version, costing significantly less, offers a creative alternative that blends aspiration with accessibility.

The success of this Cybertruck replica not only highlights the innovative spirit of Pakistani engineers but also underscores the country’s burgeoning potential in automotive design and engineering. With projects like this gaining attention, the idea of global brands considering Pakistan as a manufacturing or design hub may not be too far-fetched.

As the “Pakistani Cybertruck” continues to gain traction online, it stands as a shining example of the creativity and resourcefulness that define Pakistan’s local engineering landscape.
