The 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 kicked off today at the Karachi Expo Centre, showcasing Pakistan’s advancements in defense technology.

A major highlight of the event is the unveiling of the Shahpar-III, an advanced unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) developed by Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS). The drone boasts impressive capabilities, including a 30-hour endurance, a 1,650-kilogram payload capacity, and state-of-the-art avionics.

The four-day exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Defence and the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO), is attracting global attention with the participation of 17 new countries. Over 55 nations are showcasing their latest military technologies, including advanced weaponry, armored vehicles, and drones.

IDEAS 2024 also features a dedicated start-up hall, providing a platform for innovative solutions in the defense sector. The event underscores Pakistan’s growing self-reliance in defense technology and its commitment to strengthening international partnerships.
